The following are bulletin boards that were completed to go
along with lessons or to show student work!
During a unit on Rebuilding the Balkan Countries, students had to think about what they would miss most if war or a tragedy took these items from them or their families. In order for students to answer the question, they had to log into padlet and enter their answers. Students could see their groups answers and discuss their similarities and differences with their group members. |
This is a poster that was made during our unit on Japan. Students had an introduction to Haiku poems and then they wrote their own Spring poem. Students wrote their poems on pink flower sticky notes and then we placed them on the tree. The tree is to symbolize the Japanese Cherry Blossom Tree.
Students were studying Australia and the different characteristics of the country. One facet that the students enjoyed was the Australian Slang that Aussies speak in their everyday language. Students were required to pick any ten slang words from a list provided and write a story or a letter using different words. Once the projects were completed, students presented their writing to the class.
Students worked in a group to read an article on how the Ghetto’s of Poland was started and what they consisted of. As the students read, they had to talk to the text by highlighting important information and writing questions and notes in the margins. Once the passage was completely read the groups met with another group to discuss any questions that came up. Once all their questions were answered, the students created a summary poster that was more than 25 words and a picture to go along with their summary.
Students were learning about Western European countries. The class was divided into groups to create their poster. The groups were given a different country to research. Once the research was completed, each group took a piece of paper and divided it into four sections. The first section was the name if the country and the students had to make it eye-catching. The second section was the economy and students had to write a short description of the economy. The third section was government and the students had to write a short description of the government. The fourth section was a major attraction and the students had to have a picture and information about the attraction. Once the posters were completed, the students presented them to the class.
My Kindergarten class was doing a unit on bullying. As a class, we read the story, "Rainbow Fish," and discussed the importance of the story. I then had one fish that was covered in little shiny pieces, just like Rainbow Fish. Each student took a piece of my fish to put on their own fish. The students then completed their fish with colors.
Kindergarten students were working on the letter Cc. Each student had a circle that was divided into four sections. In each section, the students had to write a Cc word and then draw a picture of that word. As a class, we then put these pieces together to form a caterpillar, which starts with the letter Cc.
This is a hands-on bulletin board for third-grade students. The bulletin board went with a unit on sight and sound that the students were working on in class. The students were able to work with different materials to discover the importance of sight and sound, and how they work in their everyday life.
This is an interactive bulletin board for sixth graders. We were working on a graphing unit in class and I wanted to give the students a little more practice. Students were able to come to the board to pull a piece of paper and use string and pins to plot the points on the graph. Students were then able to check their answers with the key.
This is a third-grade science interactive bulletin board. This was prepared for one of my college science classes. Students would go to the center and read the stories. After reading the stories students then would look at different types of leaves and complete the activities that are listed. All the students' supplies are located on the table.
This is a photo of our Kindergarten classroom's writing center. As you can see, the alphabet is posted for the students to look at, along with the words for our colors and numbers. Each student has their own writing book in the basket that they work on at the center. I also have a file folder with separate assignments that go into their portfolios. The supplies that the students need are also located on the table.
